The Camphor Laurel tree originated in China.
It has a distinct camphor smell and is still used to line linen chests and cupboards. The smell of camphor repels moths and silverfish.
The timber itself has wonderful colours as you can see in the pictures on the left.
It is used for furniture, carving, wood turning and pen blanks.
